If you were to walk all the way from the North of Canada to the Amazon Rainforest, you would notice the wilderness changing dramatically along the way because Northern Canada is a freezing baron place without trees and the Amazon Rainforest contains the richest mix of plants and animals on the planet. This is an example of different biomes. A biome is a big ecological community, classified according to the main vegetation and characterized by the adaptations of organisms living in that particular environment. There are at least five major biomes on Earth; aquatic, deserts, forests, grasslands, and tundra.

What biome do you live in?
